From broke background extra to “Pied Piper” coder on HBO's Silicon Valley
I wasn't aiming for coding or founding—I was broke after Australia, needing cash for a motorcycle loan. Background acting seemed easy: show up suited, stand around, get paid.
A few days later I was on set at Sony Studios as a stand-in and background Pied Piper coder: sitting at rigs, pretending to code, taking a PC gamer stance with mouse in one hand and keyboard in the other while they framed shots.
