Why I build for accessibility
At OpenAI's Dev Day, I met a deaf attendee with a cochlear implant who was struggling to follow the presentations. The captions were far away, slow, and inaccurate. The noise in the room was overwhelming, causing him physical discomfort.
That moment crystallized my mission. We are on the verge of AGI, yet the most basic accessibility needs are often overlooked.
I realized that if we want technology to truly benefit humanity, we must ensure it includes everyone. That's why I'm dedicated to building AI tools that bridge the communication gap for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, using the latest advancements in machine learning and on-device processing.
